ProjectsBranding will be important, but there is the risk of investing energy too soon before we have something tangible to show.
"Tk revitalization" describes the project nicely, but it would be handy to have a working name for the project. "Tk nextgen" doesn't quite do it - it is much more than just Tk, and (realistically) it isn't the next generation of Tk but a consolidation of the existing generation.
Given that Brian Griffin started the process rolling with his Tcl2002 paper "Realizing the Windows look and feel in Tk" it might be appropriate to name the project in his honor :-)

I am truly honored! Thanks!

DGP: Besides honoring Brian, this codename
works symbolically as well. The Griffin is
a mythical beast that combines the best features
of other animals. We want a revitalized Tk to
combine the existing programming power and simplicity
of Tk with visual results that have commercial appeal.

DKF: Who wrote the original of this page? (Especially, who created that nice Griffin image?) Jeff Hobbs would like to know...

Steve Landers: I fess up - it was me. But I (ahem) borrowed the Griffin image off the net. I've talked with Jeff about it and pointed him towards the place I got it from. I suspect they borrowed it too.
